In
1982 a group of R.N.A. members got together from areas 1, 2, 5 & 6 and
decided it would be a good idea if they could make arrangements for
ex-naval people and their families to meet and have a get together at
least once a year to renew old acquaintances, it was decided to try
to have a weekend re-union in one place. This was so successful that
after the initial weekend, it was arranged each year. It also
gives us a great opportunity to raise money for various charities
throughout the United Kingdom.
After a
while, because of the popularity of this re-union, approximately 400 to
500 attendees for each event, it was extended to
two long weekends a year, and are now
held in the spring and autumn. These weekends run from
Friday evening to Monday morning, are full board, include entertainment and make a great
family weekend to relax and enjoy yourselves with your Shipmates.
